Finding talent worldwide

The City of Munich is partnering with the District of Munich to connect international skilled professionals with companies in the region more efficiently.

A job platform for Munich

In times of skilled labor shortages, attracting international talent is becoming increasingly important.

A key development: the district’s JobZENTRALE is now linked to the new Munich job platform Make it in Munich.
Companies can actively reach out to international candidates - including abroad. At the same time, skilled professionals can find suitable job opportunities in Munich and the surrounding region and apply directly.

The Munich job platform aggregates listings from multiple portals, focused on Munich and the surrounding 50 km area.

Companies based in this area can use the platform to directly target international candidates. Make it in Munich currently provides landing pages for job seekers in German, English, and Spanish.

How can companies post job listings?

To publish your vacancies on the Munich job platform, you first post your job listing via Federal Employment Agency (BA). The listing is then distributed automatically across connected platforms. Posting job ads is free of charge.

Optimize your job ad for the international market

To effectively attract qualified candidates, we recommend including the following information in your job description:

  • Language requirements: What level of German is required?
  • Support services: Do you offer support with visas, relocation, or housing?
  • Fast-track visa procedures: Do you use the accelerated skilled worker procedure?
  • Bilingual job ads: Ideally provide the job posting in both German and English if English is a working language

Information, support, and resources

The job platform is embedded in the comprehensive information offering for international professionals on the Make it in Munich portal. This includes everything from online training and consulting services to onboarding programs for newcomers to Munich.

For companies, this means: you can leverage this network to strengthen your international recruiting efforts and attract qualified talent more effectively.

A strong network for successful onboarding

To ensure a smooth and sustainable start in Munich, Make it in Munich focuses on preparing international professionals before they arrive.

The initiative is backed by a strong network including Münchner Arbeit gGmbH (Munich Employment and Qualification Company), ReDI School of Digital Integration, and the Münchner Volkshochschule (Municipal Adult Education Center).

Led by the Munich Employment and Qualification Program (MBQ) and funded by the EU’s AMIF fund, the project offers:

  • Virtual guidance on living and working in Munich
  • Targeted IT training and digital upskilling
  • Online language courses to prepare before arrival

This offers two key advantages: increased international visibility for your vacancies and access to candidates who are well-informed and prepared for the requirements of the Munich labor market even before they arrive.
