Munique à Paris

From June 17 to 20, Paris once again served as a hub for the international tech and startup scene: With approximately 180,000 attendees and more than 14,000 startups represented, Viva Tech ranks among the most important technology and innovation events in Europe. Under the theme “United by Tech” Germany was named “Country of the Year” for 2026.

The Munich and Bavarian innovation ecosystem was once again well represented. Gründerland Bayern, BayStartUP, Bayern Kapital, Munich Innovation Ecosystem, Munich Startup, WERK1, and munich business jointly showcased their work at the Startup Bavaria booth. This joint presence provided participants with a central point of contact for questions about Munich as a hub for innovation and business. Discussions focused on international collaborations, growth opportunities for startups, venture capital, and the many locational advantages of the Bavarian capital. The close collaboration among the participating partners once again highlighted the strength of Munich’s innovation ecosystem.

Munich’s Startups at VivaTech 2026

A special highlight was the shared Weißwurst breakfast, which provided an opportunity for discussion and networking in a relaxed atmosphere. In addition to our booth partners, we were supported here by XPLR:Media and the Swabian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK Schwaben).

In addition, munich business once again accompanied five innovative Munich-based tech startups to Paris this year.

The following startups took advantage of the international stage at VivaTech to present their solutions to a global audience, make new contacts, and expand their international visibility:

ExoMatter

The startup takes a hybrid approach to materials research and development, combining an AI-powered platform with co-development projects to help companies identify, evaluate, and develop new materials more quickly.

Modelwise

Modern electronics are developed using sophisticated EDA workflows, however, safety analyses are often still exported to spreadsheets and performed manually. Modelwise replaces this process with deterministic, model-based automation directly within the EDA workflow, enabling development teams to create safer products faster, more reliably, and more cost-effectively.

OntoWorks

The startup solves the biggest efficiency problem in video production: raw footage that takes days to review and edit manually. The AI platform OntoVision analyzes footage fully automatically, semantically structures scenes, people, and actions, and delivers directly editable rough cuts as well as outputs tailored to specific formats for broadcast, streaming, and social media.

Tender Republic

Tender Republic is a software platform that reads and evaluates public tenders and helps companies respond to them. It provides European SMEs with easy access to the EU’s 2-trillion-euro public procurement market. 41.8% of all public tenders in the EU receive no bids or only a single bid. This limited competition results in significantly higher costs for taxpayers.

theconsumer.ai

Theconsumer.ai is developing an AI-based research system for FMCG brands that validates product concepts, packaging, and claims in minutes. Using AI-based consumer personas, it simulates real-world market reactions and delivers quantifiable, explainable insights into purchase intent, target audience fit, and market relevance. This enables innovation decisions to be made faster, more cost-effectively, and based on data before significant investments are made.

VivaTech 2026 has once again demonstrated the importance of strong networks and international platforms for the continued development of Munich as a hub for innovation.
