Global Talent Competitiveness Index 2022
The latest edition of the Global Talent Competitiveness Index (GTCI) again shows that Munich is regarded the most attractive city in Germany by international professionals.
This year, Munich climbed six places, landing in ninth place in the overall ranking, placing it among the world's top 10.
Munich scored particularly well in the areas of environmental quality, patent applications and the factors of unemployment and happiness. Furthermore, above all, an orientation toward digital transformation and an attractive working environment enable cities like Munich to position themselves well.
About the GTCI
The index was conducted for the ninth time and published by the Human Capital Leadership Institute, Portulans Institute and the international university INSEAD.
Smaller economies in particular show first-class talent performance. The top places in the ranking are dominated by cities from (Northern) Europe and North America. In the current ranking of cities, San Francisco once again leads, followed by Boston and Zurich.
The Global Talent Competitiveness Index lists 113 countries and 175 cities from 79 economies around the world according to their talent competitiveness. The study is based on several variables, which are divided into five categories: "Enable," "Attract," "Grow," "Retain," and "Be Global.
