Welcome Center for new residents

Since mid-June, the Munich Welcome Center at the District Administration Office has been in full operation.

Orientation and guidance

Since mid-June, the new Munich Welcome Center at the Kreisverwaltungsreferat (District Administration Office) has been in full operation.

It serves as a guide and provides orientation with regard to the City’s services, particularly for skilled workers who are new to Munich.

Initial information can be obtained at the information desk during opening hours without an appointment.

If necessary, partner organizations provide in-depth counseling.  These include amiga – Career Center for Internationals, the Goethe-Institut, the Integration Counseling Center for Language and Career, the Migration Counseling Service, the Munich Adult Education Center MVHS and the Service Center for the Recognition of Foreign Qualifications. They offer counseling stations directly inside the new Welcome Center, to which the information desk in the entrance area will refer clients.

The Welcome Center also promotes and facilitates digital participation: In a dedicated client area, visitors can use free workstations to apply for municipal services online. Those who are not yet familiar with online applications can receive assistance from staff members.

In collaboration with its partners, the Welcome Center also regularly hosts events on relevant topics and offers tailored to specific target groups.

Tip for businesses

Do you have employees who need help with applications, residency documents, or questions about the City of Munich’s various online services?

Recommend that they come directly and in person to the Welcome Center.

The staff and partner organizations will then provide individualized assistance—for example, with questions regarding language, dealing with government agencies, work, education, leisure, or housing.
